CWID is a Non Governmental Organization that was established in 2006, it is a regional organization that works within the Coastal Region of Kenya.

To improve the lives of the vulnerable women and children living at the grassroots level

To identify and reinforce women’s role in education, leadership and development
|
| OBJECTIVES
|
- To sensitize the community about violence and its effects on the nation and society at large
- To educate the victims of post election violence.
- Reduce HIV/AIDS stigma
- Provide education support and facilitation to girl child from poor families within the Coastal region of Kenya
- Affirmative action on employment and leadership opportunities for the women
- Sensitize women to participate in policy development and decision making tables
- Addressing reproductive and maternal health
- Advocate for gender and children’s rights
- Address Climate Change and its disaster risks on the rural women and children

| STRUCTURES
|
CWID has members all over Coast Province who are divided into several groups depending on location and/or projects. The groups are further organized into a team of either twenty or twenty five people otherwise known as Structures
