Volunteering spirit is central to Coast Women. In Development’s dispensation of her core responsibilities and activities that aim to promote poor women involvement and participation in overcoming women suffering brought about by violence, diseases, poverty and hunger. The organization affirms the importance of women rights, their capabilities in bringing change to the society through their combined effort.
We don't see life as a simple process, each movement  interacts with other parts of life. So CWID is active in different sectors of the society to make life more livable. So we focus our attention to EDUCATION, ORGANIZATION and PREVENTION.
CWID’s main goal therefore, is to enhance support to development activities of its structural members who are currently seven hundred and twenty in number, well spread all over the coastal region. The organization’s mission is to create an inspiration of forming a base for the social movement that is able to give positive direction to women at large and the youths.

EDUCATION                       
One aim of CWID is to make education possible for all children and adults. We arrange courses for all kind of people. A big staff is visiting all parts of the coast region and distribute what is necessary for edu- cation, textbooks and technical literature. The rural regions are really disadvanteged and the illiteracy is more common than in urban areas. CWID stand up for more schools and free books in rural districts without any fees. Literacy shouldn't be a question of richness.
ORGANIZATION                
We organize courses , meetings and events for the coast women and the children. We organize ourself in weekly meetings where
we discuss our activities and the events we will perform. The coastwomen get to know themself as essential and important members of the society. CWID is fighting for gender equality and the rights of women. Its not the right way, when the genders are devided by laws and customs.
PREVENTION                     
To have a balanced life, a helthy body and soul is necessary. CWID enlighten the people about food and contagious deseases or the kenyan laws.A very important matter of mutual interest is to inform about
malaria and HIV. Many people in Kenya are insufficient informed about  the way of infection the virulence of these  deadly diseases in Kenya. The rate of fatalitiescould be less, if the people would be more enlightened.
